There was spooky fun and trick or treating at the Spring Hills Senior Communities locations for Halloween! Here’s a taste of what some of the communities did to celebrate.
Spring Hills Middletown:
On October 25th, dogs and cats in Halloween costumes joined the seniors and their families at Spring Hills Middletown Assisted Living during their annual Halloween and PawFest celebration. Everyone enjoyed carnival-like activities, a “magical” pumpkin patch with pumpkins for the kids to take home, a new Spooky Courtyard Trail designed to be kid-friendly yet Halloween-esque with ghosts, graveyard signs and more. Mr. Cowpies Petting Zoo joined in on the fun with 15 different animals including birds who love to sing along to his goofy songs! The kids and their families had fun trick or treating with the senior residents during the carnival activities. In addition to all of this fun, there was a spider and bat-themed photo booth, face painting and balloon artistry by Looney Balloony. The event benefits the Animal Friends Humane Society and guests were encouraged to bring a donation of pet food.
Spring Hills Singing Woods:
Magic and Trick or Treating go together like family and seniors at Spring Hills Singing Woods Assisted Living’s Fall Harvest Night on October 26. Children came in costume for a spellbinding magic show by Matthew David Stanley. Immediately after the interactive show, trick or treating began! The senior residents left their doors open so all the children knew where to get the best candy. The fun-filled night concluded with Halloween themed refreshments.
Spring Hills Cherry Hill:
On October 27th, toddlers brought costumed joy to the residents at Spring Hills Cherry Hill Assisted Living as well as their Memory Care Community, Spring Cottage. The moms of The Mom’s Club of Cherry Hill West, Haddonfield, Haddon Township and Collingswood are brought their kids, dressed in costume, for pre-Halloween trick-or-treating fun. The kids paraded through the community’s lobby, Town Center and the dining room. After the parade, they gathered in the recreation room for a game of “Pin the Smile on the Skeleton” and “Wrap the Mummy”, a pumpkin craft and snacks with the residents. First, they went to the Spring Cottage Memory Care Community for trick or treating and a story.
Spring Hills Lake Mary:
Preschoolers from the local KinderCare Trick or Treated with the senior residents at Spring Hills Lake Mary Assisted Living on Halloween morning! About 25 kids came in costume to go trick or treating around the community. Residents, some in costume along with the kids, waited by their apartment doors with candy in spooky ghost boxes they made the day before.
Spring Hills Morristown:
The residents at Spring Hills Morristown dressed all up for Halloween and competed to see whose costume was the best! They were joined by the team members who also dressed up for the holiday. Senior spectators cast a ballot to pick a winner who received a special gift basket. Throughout this hour-long event, everyone danced to Halloween music and enjoyed Halloween themed refreshments.
Spring Hills Mt. Vernon:
On October 31, children from the Capital Kids came in costume to trick or treat with the senior residents at Spring Hills Mt. Vernon Assisted Living! Approximately 15 kids modeled their costumes during a Halloween Fashion Show for the residents, some of whom also dressed in costume. After the fashion show, the kids will trick or treat in the lobby with the seniors.
