WWII Veteran and Spring Hills Mt. Vernon Resident takes the Flight of her Life

WWII veteran Maybelle Campbell had the ride of her life when she took a Dream Flight in a restored 1940’s Boeing Stearman open cockpit biplane from World War II. Private 1st Class Campbell was in the Women Army Corps (WAC) and a part of the first African American Group of Women who was in the service. She worked sorting the mail and served for two years. She was joined by two of her friends from Spring Hills Mt. Vernon Assisted Living, Joyce Hall and Sandra Beasley who are both spouses of veterans. This flight is part of the Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation (AADF), a non-profit dedicated to honoring seniors who have served in the United States army. Each flier received an autographed flyer hat with the Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation emblem as a souvenir from their flight.
