Our History

The Spring Hills family has been caring and serving seniors, as well as other individuals in need of quality healthcare, since 1999. Spring Hills Senior Communities is the result of one man's dream. In 1999, Alexander Markowits had a vision of changing a skilled nursing facility in Morristown, NJ into an assisted living community to save jobs and meet the demands of today's society. As a licensed Nursing Home Administrator, Alex began to transform the structure into a luxurious setting for those people in need of a safe environment that allows individuals to continue an affordable, independent lifestyle.

The vision also included the desire to expand the Spring Hills family and acquire new assisted living communities where he could provide the same quality services, Signature Touches, and warm atmosphere. The visualization became a reality when Spring Hills purchased the following four communities in 2002: Spring Hills Singing Woods in Dayton, Ohio; Spring Hills Mt. Vernon in Alexandria, Virginia; Spring Hills Lake Mary in Lake Mary, Florida; and Spring Hills Hunter's Creek in Orlando, Florida. In 2004, the expansion continued when Spring Hills Middletown, in Franklin, Ohio and Spring Hills Somerset in Somerset, New Jersey were added to our family of communities. Since then, Spring Hills has taken the time to further develop existing programs and enhance the services offered.

In 2010, Spring Hills Senior Communities expanded its reach to seniors who want the choice to remain at home. Spring Hills Home Care Services, a division of Spring Hills Senior Communities emerged as the result. Spring Hills Home Care Services currently has a licensed Nurse Registry in Central Florida and plans to increase its locations to more markets to better serve and care for seniors in the comforts of their own home.

The most recent Spring Hills Senior Communities acquisition, January 2011, is Spring Hills Cherry Hill, in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. This transformation of a hotel and conference center into luxury Assisted Living and Memory Care Community, will be a one of a kind!

Spring Hills Senior Communities, has created a special format that extends a secure atmosphere for those individuals experiencing memory loss. Our unique memory care division, known as Spring Cottage at our communities in New Jersey, Florida, Virginia, and Ohio, extend the ultimate services and safety while dedicated to the physical, social, and emotional well-being of our residents.

Determined to lead the way in the assisted living, memory care, and at home care services, Spring Hills Senior Communities and Spring Hills Home Care Services employs only top professionals of each respective field that are dedicated to "Caring with a Commitment to Quality".
